-- Come meet the candidate: Bill Gillespie, candidate for the 1st Congressional District. Time and place to be announced.
-- September 22, 2008: Beginning date for submitting applications for absentee voting (which can be done by mail or in person at the registrar's office in the Coffee County Courthouse).
-- October 6, 2008: Last day to register to vote in the November 4, 2008 Election. You must also update your registration if you have moved.
-- October 27-31, 2008: Advance voting week.

· 1st Congressional District Chair: Dennis Marks, Valdosta
-- Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner. The theme for the dinner was "Come to Georgia," and all Presidential candidates were invited. Congressman John Lewis and Senator Max Cleland were honored with our first annual "Georgia Giants" award.
-- Saturday, September 13, 2008. State Committee Meeting and also Georgia Association of Democratic County Chairs (GADCC) annual dinner to award the Richard B. Russell Public Service Award. All proceeds from this dinner assist Democratic County Parties. The 2008 recipients were be Angelia and Tasso Knight. The events were held at the DuBose Porter Training Center, 560 Pinehill Road, Dublin, Georgia.
